A lovely old trinket dish fashioned as a scallop shell but with a vine tendril
handle made from twisted wire and sheet metal leaves. The stamp on the base
reads EPNS standing for electro-plated nickel silver or 'silver plate'.
The upper surface of the dish is matt silver with small greyish speckles. The
underside is more tarnished - a darker grey with an oily iridescence.
It stands 11 cm tall on 4 spherical feet. In good vintage condition.
